Wed. night we had another really good Bible study. We are still experiencing God. This has really been a good series. Only wish you could join us for the rest of the study. We will have another study on Wed: Oct. 31st. I know that's Halloween but the good lord watches out for all his people. Hope to see you there. We always start at 5:30 with a fellowship meal and your invited. The study starts at 6:30 and some times before that Usually done by 7:30. Hope to see you Sunday in Church at 10:45 and if your really up and going maybe I'll see you for Sunday school. That's at 9:45. Of course you should come check out the donuts at 9:30, or is that what will really be served. Some of us get a little more energetic, and surprise you with something else.
We will be at the Haysville Parade Hope you can come see ya there.

Do you believe in the cook?

Sometimes when I'm faced with an unbeliever, an atheist, I am tempted to invite him to the greastest gourmet dinner that one could ever serve, and when we finished eating that magnificent dinner. to ask him if he believes there,s a cook.-Ronald Reagan

Living the Word

Folks go to church on Sunday, And think they " have it made," But there are six more days in which To practice what we've prayed. You can't just read the scriptures, You have to live them, too, God knows what's best for you. Life takes alot more giving, Than most of us condone, But everything belongs to God, ...And nothing is our own.

Experiencing God

As we go through Dr. Blackaby's study "Experiencing God" we will face many challenges. Challenges to our way of life, challenges to our walk with God, challenges to how we do church. I am sure that each of us will find we are not what we should be, nor are we as in tune to Jesus as we thought we were. But as it has been said "it is not where we start that matters, but where we end up." Lets all search our lives and hearts to find out who we are in Christ, and where we are in our walk with Him. Then let us set our sights on where God wants us to be and chart a straight and courageous course to that destination. God Bless. Are you expecting great things from God this Sunday? I hope so.

Expecting God Sunday Morning

It's Saturday night and as I prepare for services tomorrow morning I find myself wondering what God is going to do. Jesus said that "where two or three are gathered together in my name I will be with them". Jesus will be at SBBC tomorrow morning. Jesus will show up. I find myself full of expectation. As a congregation we have begun Henry Blackaby's study Experiencing God. I am expecting to find out where God is at work. I am expecting to have a great time joining God in his wonderful work. I am expecting God to do great things. William Carey started the modern missionary movement with a sermon titled "Expect great things from God, Attempt great things for God." What great things is God going to do in our midst?
I rest confident that SBBC does not need gimmicks, or fancy marketing to grow or to do great things. SBBC needs only God! God the Father, our creator; God the Son, our redeemer; and God the Holy Spirit our comforter and guide. I expect God to show up and do a great work among us. Do You?

A wonderful quote I ran across

In Studying for my message tomorrow I came across this quote about what church is all about. I thought I would share it tonight because this is what our service tomorrow will be all about.

Hope to see you in the morning as we seek Jesus together.

Pastor Randy

You know from your own experience of Sunday worship that one of the great things that sometimes happens is, you come to church seeking consolation, comfort, something to take away some of the pain—and before the service is over, you get something so much better.
You get Jesus in all his glory and demanding wonder. You get discipleship. You came, hoping to find God, only to be transformed by God finding you. This is us at our best. This is what those Seekers are seeking, even if they don’t yet know this is what they are seeking.

God is at Work

This has been a great week. God is at work at South Broadway. Tonight at our monthly church meeting is was agreed to join with Perry Wamago, a North American Mission Board missionary, to begin a weekly bible Study on Thursday nights targeting Native Americans. God wants to use South Broadway to advance the Kingdom of God. Praise Jesus!!! We will also be in the Haysville Fall Festival parade in October with a float. If you are not attending South Broadway you are missing something. There is not a week that goes by without God doing something in our midst. The prayer room is also now open. Linda L. has done a great job in getting the room open. It will be dedicated to the memory of two of our members who have gone to be with Jesus, Garland and Lola Johnson. They were two faithful Christians that made life a joy. We miss them dearly but their faithfulness will be remembered. Hope to see you Sunday morning. God Bless.

This Week

Attendance was down this Sunday with a lot of folks traveling. We still had a good time in the Lord however. The rummage sale went well with a lot of things sold and money raised for the new sign. I would urge everyone to pray for revival in our town and nation. God wants to do something great, He just needs us to be willing to give ourselves over to Him so He can work. Have you prayed this week. Remember one week without prayer makes one weak. God bless

Sunday

This Sunday was another great day of worship. Worship attendance was good and Keith brought a wonderful special song titled "You can Only Imagine". The sermon was from Romans chapter 3. If you haven't heard any of Pastor Randy's messages on Romans you are missing a blessing. come next Sunday and see what God has to say from Romans 4.
Linda L. brought a wonderful testimony about a friend of hers who has had a healing from heart disease.
Join us in prayer for an organist. Although our organ is a simple one and most churches have gone to electric piano's, God has given us this organ and we wish to use it to His glory. SBBC firmly believes that God provides everything we need to do what He wants us to do. We may not have everything to do what we want, but always what HE wants.
Don't forget to come out to the rummage sale this Friday and Saturday. All money's raised will go toward paying for the new sign and the new siding. May God bless.

Wonderful Sunday

Services at South Broadway were singular in their effect today. The most notable was the answer to prayer we saw. A young man, Larry W, had surgery for a possible brain tumor this week. Last Sunday we prayed that God would heal him. Today we learned that when the surgeons went in, all they found was scar tissue. God is still in the healing business. God is good. Come join us next Sunday and find the excitement of South Broadway. Pastor Randy is currently preaching through the book of Romans. Don't miss out on this excellent series. May God bless you this day.

Great Sunday Services

Services this Sunday were well attended. It was a joy to see the Brockman's back. It is great to see Leona up and around after breaking a hip. Tammy made it to church with her family. We are all glad that she finally had a Sunday off from her job. Carolyn as always did a great job with the music.
After the service a special business meeting was held to get approval to get new siding put on the west side of the building. The motion passed without dissent. So in then next few months the church building should have a new look with new siding, a new sign coming, and the landscaping that Linda Lyle is planning. Praise the Lord. Hope to see you next Sunday. God bless.
